Kinect in Windows 8 on .NET Rocks

My coworker Danny Warren and I recorded a .NET Rocks session a couple weeks that just went live tonight.  We discuss how we got a Windows 8 / WinRT application to communicate with the Microsoft Kinect.  I blogged about how we pulled that off here, but check out the podcast to hear it first hand.

  1. The official Kinect SDK supports the Xbox one for development purposes only. For production use, or for greater accuracy (including near mode), Kinect for Windows is required. Though almost indistinguishable, they apparently made great advances in design and manufacturing quality with the new Windows one.
